Overview
You will be actively involved in the end-to-end commissioning process across multiple mechanical systems, ensuring installation, testing, and commissioning activities are delivered in line with project and client requirements.
Responsibilities
- Reviewing IFC drawings, specifications, and mechanical submittals
- Supporting the commissioning plan development and execution strategy
- Defining system boundaries, methodologies, and commissioning sequencing
- Coordinating activities with package engineers, planners, and vendors
- Preparing and reviewing commissioning checklists, scripts, and test packs
- Witnessing and verifying commissioning and functional performance tests
- Supporting system walkdowns, tag walks, and inspections
- Maintaining commissioning trackers, logs, and progress reporting
- Identifying snags, tracking defects, and supporting close-out activities
- Assisting with O&M documentation and training material preparation
- Supporting commissioning meetings with the client where required
Quality assurance and compliance
- Ensuring all testing follows approved procedures and standards
- Verifying compliance with project specifications and client requirements
- Identifying risks early and escalating issues to commissioning leadership
- Supporting audits, inspections, and final client sign-off processes
Requirements
- Strong mechanical systems knowledge (e.g. HVAC, chilled water, LTHW, ventilation, pressurisation systems)
- Proven experience in mechanical commissioning within building services or industrial projects
- Comfortable working on-site and being actively involved in testing and commissioning activities
- Good understanding of commissioning sequencing, system interfaces, and integration
- Strong coordination and communication skills across multidisciplinary teams
- Detail-oriented, structured, and methodical approach to work
- Data centre experience is beneficial but not essential
- Strong attitude, reliability, and willingness to be hands-on are more important than sector background
