We are seeking an experienced Building Automation System (Client) Technician to support the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, commissioning, and optimization of building automation and HVAC control systems in Stuttgart, Germany.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with Client/DDC systems and a strong understanding of HVAC controls, electrical systems, sensors, actuators, and building-management systems. Experience with Alerton is highly preferred, particularly experience with system troubleshooting, programming, graphics, alarms, trends, and controller-level diagnostics.
Candidates with experience using other major Client platforms such as Tridium/Niagara or similar systems are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot Client/DDC systems supporting HVAC and building systems.
- Diagnose Client alarms, system faults, communication issues, sensor failures, and control-related problems.
- Perform troubleshooting at the controller, field-device, network, and supervisory/front-end levels.
- Modify and optimize setpoints, schedules, sequences of operation, alarm parameters, and control logic as authorized.
- Monitor system trends and identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, occupant comfort, and energy efficiency.
- Perform point-to-point testing, functional testing, system verification, and commissioning activities.
- Support installation, startup, and commissioning of Client controllers, sensors, actuators, VFDs, and related control equipment.
- Read and interpret HVAC mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, control drawings, sequences of operation, and Client documentation.
- Assist with integration of HVAC equipment and third-party systems using protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, or other applicable communication protocols.
- Maintain accurate system documentation, point lists, graphics, trend logs, and service records.
- Coordinate with HVAC technicians, electricians, engineers, facility personnel, contractors, and project managers.
- Provide technical support to facility personnel and end users.
- Perform preventive maintenance and recommend corrective actions to improve Client reliability.
- Follow applicable German and site-specific safety, quality, and operational procedures.
- Participate in an on-call or after-hours support rotation when required.
