TSE Brakes Gmb H is hiring a dedicated Accountant for its facility located at Hessenring 23 in Mörfelden-Walldorf, Hesse

JOB SUMMARY

The accountant manages the general ledger and accounting operations for the Germany location of TSE Brakes, Gmb H.

Operating with a high degree of initiative and analytical problem-solving, this individual takes full ownership of assigned corporate finance duties.

The role collaborates closely with the US Controller and local management to ensure accurate, timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial filings.

Additionally, the Accountant partners across departments to maintain policy compliance and provides front office support as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Resolve routine financial data issues promptly while independently managing and resolving complex, critical problems with minimal guidance
• Prepares and performs month end closing procedures for the Company in compliance with accounting standards
• Assist company Controller with preparation of financial statements including but not limited to Balance Sheet, Income Statement and management reports
• Understand and supervise all daily accounting functions to include accounts payable, inventory accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll
• Maintains integrity of general ledger and performs monthly review and reconciliation of all ledger accounts
• Prepares consolidation of related divisions for the company including required eliminating and intercompany transactions
• Conducts analysis, provides data and reports on variances, monthly and semi-annual budgets, forecast, ledgers, and other information
• Assist with preparation of annual budget and perform monthly analysis around variances based on comparative budget to actual results
• Establish and maintain strong working relationships with management team
• Prepares and distributes critical date reports; maintain tickler system for tracking important dates and tasks.
• Prepare and distribute Monthly and Quarterly Reports and ad hoc reports in a timely, accurate manner
• Gain a full understanding of TSE Brakes accounting functions which include but is not limited to: product cost, customers, cost structure pricing, inventory, key competitors, key cost drivers and competitive advantages
• Assist with the development of creating short term and long-term strategic accounting plans for TSE Brakes
• Maintain a strong business relationship with customers, vendors, and colleagues to meet business goals and objectives
• OTHER DUTIES INCLUDE
• Working with consultant to file VAT Filing for TSE Brakes Inc and Germany.
• Working with consultant to file income tax filing.
• Supervise inventory controls related to receiving, production entries, shipping, scrap and inventory adjustments and scanner implementation.
• Leading annual physical inventory and cycle count process.
• Invoice review, approval and data entry for payment processing.
• Vendor maintenance in compliance with standard practice.
• Performing HR duties such as hiring process, termination, managing accruals (bonus, vacation, and overtime) and providing information to payroll consultants for the process.
• Coordinating required training and process into documentation software (CAQ).
• Managing fixed assets (addition, disposal and fixed asset inventory) for TSE Brakes Gmb H.
• Provide support on demand to the local team and management.
• Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (BA/BS) from a four‑year college or university and a minimum of three years of related experience and/or training.

Manufacturing experience is highly preferred CPA and/or MBA or Masters level graduate degree a plus

QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co‑workers, and/or supervisor.
• Ability to effectively present information to an internal group.
• Ability to fluently communicate in German and English.
• Requires general knowledge of accounting principles and general ledger accounting
• Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations.
• Ability to solve problems in standard situations.
• Requires basic analytical skills
• SUPERVISORY ROLE

This position has no direct reports.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50lbs at a time.
• Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms
• Occasionally stoop, kneel, bend, or twist
• Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and talk or hear
• Travel will be required, and frequency will be based on key business needs
