The Growth Product Director / Activation Funnel Lead / User Onboarding Analyst leads initiatives that improve user acquisition, activation, onboarding, engagement, retention, and product-led growth. This role uses customer insight, behavioural data, experimentation, and product strategy to help new users realise value quickly and progress through key adoption milestones.
The position works closely with Product, Engineering, UX/UI, Data, Marketing, Customer Success, Sales, Support, and Operations teams. Responsibilities include mapping user journeys, analysing activation funnels, identifying drop-off points, defining onboarding experiences, developing product experiments, improving in-product messaging, and measuring the impact of changes on conversion, engagement, retention, and revenue.
At leadership level, the role establishes growth-product strategy, activation metrics, experimentation standards, and cross-functional operating rhythms. It prioritises high-impact opportunities, aligns teams around customer outcomes, develops scalable onboarding programmes, and provides senior stakeholders with clear insight into user behaviour, growth performance, product opportunities, and investment priorities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Product Management, Marketing, Business, Data Analytics, Computer Science, UX, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
- Master’s degree, MBA, or relevant product-growth, analytics, or digital-marketing qualification is an advantage.
- Experience in growth product management, product analytics, user onboarding, lifecycle marketing, conversion optimisation, customer success, or a related field.
- Proven experience improving activation, onboarding, adoption, engagement, retention, conversion, or product-led growth outcomes.
- Strong understanding of user journeys, customer lifecycle stages, product funnels, behavioural segmentation, cohort analysis, and customer-value metrics.
- Experience designing, testing, and optimising onboarding flows, activation journeys, in-product guidance, user education, prompts, notifications, emails, or self-service resources.
- Ability to define and monitor product-growth metrics such as activation rate, time to value, funnel conversion, feature adoption, retention, churn, engagement, and customer lifetime value.
- Experience conducting user research, usability testing, surveys, interviews, journey mapping, and qualitative analysis to understand user needs and barriers.
- Strong knowledge of experimentation methods, A/B testing, hypothesis development, test design, statistical interpretation, and continuous optimisation.
- Experience using product-analytics, web-analytics, CRM, customer-success, and experimentation tools such as Amplitude, Mixpanel, Google Analytics, Heap, Pendo, Intercom, HubSpot, or comparable platforms.
- Proficiency in Excel, SQL, dashboards, and data-visualisation tools; experience with Python, R, Tableau, or Power BI is advantageous.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with product managers, engineers, designers, data analysts, marketers, and customer-facing teams.
- Experience translating data and user insight into product requirements, experiment roadmaps, growth initiatives, and prioritised recommendations.
- Strong analytical thinking, customer empathy, communication, stakeholder-management, prioritisation, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience leading growth, product, analytics, onboarding, or cross-functional experimentation teams is an advantage.
