The Opportunity:
In this role you will be part of the local Marketing team bringing strong digital expertise to drive the creative, effective and efficient execution of brand strategies and plans. Your focus will be on delivering impactful Digital Media Campaigns in close collaboration with Brand Managers, Sales teams and external agencies. Additionally you will engage directly with external partners and retailers to develop and execute joint digital activation campaigns that strengthen brand presence and deliver measurable results.
What Your Impact Will Be:
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate digital media briefing and response‑to‑brief process between local agencies and local Brand Managers in line with the Mattel DE & EMEA digital strategy.
- Execute and optimise digital media campaigns across all Mattel portfolio brands (Barbie, Hot Wheels, UNO, Fisher‑Price, etc.).
- Work closely with external agencies and partners to define channel strategy.
- Advise Brand teams on the budget for online media plans split by objective (awareness, engagement & conversion), audience (shoppers, adult fans vs kids) or channel.
- Ensure best practices and latest learnings are consistently applied to maximise objectives across all Brands.
- Lead cross‑departmental projects primarily related to MMM ensuring data accuracy, effective coordination among teams and successful application of key action points to inform future media plans.
Google Media
- Lead and coordinate all Google media activities (Search, YouTube and Demand Gen) defining strategies in collaboration with the regional media team to ensure alignment with brand and business objectives.
- Oversee end‑to‑end campaign execution ensuring timely launches, accurate implementation and optimal delivery across platforms.
- Define and optimise keywords, audiences and creative assets working closely with brand teams and agencies to maximise campaign performance.
- Monitor, analyse and report on results and KPIs providing actionable insights and recommendations to continuously improve future campaigns.
OLV & Display (Amazon Media Programmatic & CTV)
- Drive the strategy and execution of OLV & Display campaigns across Amazon Media Programmatic and CTV platforms ensuring alignment with overall marketing and media objectives.
- Collaborate with agencies, regional and local teams to define targeting, creative approaches and audience segmentation strategies that maximise reach and engagement.
- Oversee campaign set‑up tracking and optimisation ensuring on‑time launches and high‑quality delivery across all placements and formats.
- Analyse performance metrics and KPIs extracting insights to inform optimisation plans and guide future investment & creative strategies.
Adult Fans Strategy & Activation
- Define and lead the Adult Fans strategy from the ground up identifying key platforms, audiences and content opportunities to strengthen Mattel’s connection with adult consumers.
- Analyse consumer behaviours and motivations to develop insights‑driven campaigns that authentically resonate with adult audiences and elevate brand perception.
- Collaborate closely with GTM Sales and Brand teams to ensure 360 activation plans integrating media, gaming, PR and retail for cohesive storytelling and engagement.
Qualifications
- University degree in Economics, Business Administration or any other related field (Bachelor/ Master/ Diploma). Online Marketing Diploma or specific mention of Digital.
- 5 years in online marketing, digital media or eCommerce/eRetail preferably within an FMCG company or online retailer.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly good Excel knowledge.
- Fluent in written & spoken German and English.
- Good digital expertise (Social Media, CRM, UX, CMS, Google Analytics, etc.).
- Ability to effectively manage projects in a fast‑paced, highly demanding environment.
- Problem‑solving & analytical ability and a high level of organisational and time‑management skills.
- Team player with a collaborative style.
