Human Resources / Travel Administration (m/f/d)

The MPI-CBG is seeking a full-time staff member in Human Resources / Travel Administration (m/f/d).

Your Responsibilities

  • In the area of Human Resources: Processing personnel matters from onboarding to offboarding, in compliance with applicable laws, collective bargaining agreements, and company agreements

  • Preparation of employment contracts and stipend letters; providing information on related matters in light of employment, social security and tax law

  • Independent deadline tracking and monitoring of ongoing processes

  • Supervision and further development of programs for guests, research assistants and trainees

  • Support in recording, maintaining and evaluating applicant data

  • In the area of travel: independent processing of domestic and foreign travel expense reimbursements in accordance with the German Federal Travel Expenses Act (BRKG) with a focus on foreign travel (secondment)

  • Interface between the internal payroll department and the accounting department for travel matters

  • Contact person for travel reimbursement and mobility related issues

  • Processing of internal job ticket requests and monitoring of subscriptions

  • New and further development of explanatory documents, SOPs and guidelines.

Required Qualifications

  • University degree, preferably in human resources/public administration, or comparable vocational training
  • several years of relevant professional experience in human resources, ideally in the area of travel expense accounting
  • comprehensive knowledge of the TVÖD as well as labor, tax, social security and supplementary pension law
  • excellent communication skills; very good spoken and written German and English skills required
  • good user knowledge of MS Office products (MS Word, MS Excel)
  • independent, goal-oriented, service-oriented and reliable work style
  • quick comprehension, discretion and sense of responsibility

Desired Qualifications

  • good user skills in SAP R/3
  • analytical skills to assess personal data and derive potential action items
  • Team-oriented, proactive approach and the ability to work in an interdisciplinary and intercultural environment.
