Geopolitical Analysis Manager
We are currently looking for a Geopolitical Analysis Manager to join one of the groups specialist divisions. This division partners with governments, civil society, foundations, academia, and the private sector, to work on the critical issues of our time, including the climate emergency, national security, social justice, conflict prevention, and sustainable development. We provide a fully integrated, end to end service, combining multi-discipline communications teams with subject matter experts, across the world. Our work is domestic and global, often affecting the most vulnerable in society, with international activity orientated towards conflict affected or developing countries.
Job Responsibilities:
- Help to make World Services communications strategies more evidence-based, effective and reflective of the broader geopolitical character of our operating environment.
- Support the preparation of timely, relevant analyses, briefings and strategic recommendations verbally and in writing for all levels of the agency, from senior management to staff on the ground.
- Take a leading role in a region or a topic, supporting the (Senior) Analysis Director or potentially being the actual lead of a more niche region or topic.
- Provide geopolitical recommendations to account teams and support the Strategy team in turning these into effective communications strategies.
- Contribute to the agency’s high-level thinking on how to approach our problem sets.
- Line management of the most junior team members.
About You:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and three years relevant experience with a strong focus on geopolitics.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to convert qualitative and quantitative data and desk research into clear and concise briefings in impeccable written and spoken English.
- Ability to develop and lead research and analysis processes, applying a range of approaches, tools and methodologies to guide strategic recommendations, ideally in relation to communications and outreach.
- An understanding of contemporary Euro-Atlantic defence and security developments.
- Understanding of the information environment, including traditional broadcast and online media, social media and disinformation.
- Some understanding of open-source monitoring tools such as Maltego would be desirable.
