Job Description
The main activities are focused on:
- working closely with relevant stakeholdersto understand the requirements and implement/develop MW 3479 solutions thatalign with the following objectives;
- ensuring that the MW 3479 capability isoptimized for the tasks, suggest and implements improvements if necessary.
- as part of the CSU Ramstein Team, beresponsive, first-and-foremost, to the requests related to MW 3479.
- building Virtual Machines, including userprofiles, firewalls and resources management (hardware and software).
- fully supporting, configuring andmaintaining all elements of MW 3479;
- monitoring required updates;
- supporting and administering third-partyapplications;
- ensuring MW 3479 network security andconnectivity;
- monitoring MW 3479 network performance(availability, utilization, throughput, good put, and latency) and test forweaknesses;
- setting up user accounts, permissions andpasswords;
- resolving problems reported by end user;
- defining MW 3479 network policies andprocedures;
- specifying system requirements and designsolutions;
- researching and make recommendations on MW3479 system administration;
- liaising and acting as point of contact withCSU Ramstein Service Operations Branch in order to ensure data sciencesoftware/hardware is adapted as required by the Data Science team and ensuresall cyber policies are respected.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a system administratorrole
- Some experience in networking, routing andswitching desirable
- Sound knowledge of scripting (PowerShell)including provisioning/changing Azure resources;
- Hands on experience in building virtualmachines, snapshot, DRS concept, clustering hosts;
- Experience in VMWare Horizon, creating andtweaking gold images according to Microsoft guidance using the latestrecommendations;
- Sound knowledge of VMWare Horizon LinkedClones, Instant Clones and Thin App;
- Expertise in information technology domainssuch as Cloud Computing and IT Infrastructures;
- Excellent knowledge of best practices aroundmanagement, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure
- Experience with firewalls, troubleshooting,and problem resolution
- Ability to set up and configure serverhardware
- Familiarity with backup and recoverysoftware and methodologies
- Great at organising, prioritising andmultitasking
- Excellent written and oral communicationskills;
- Strong problem-solving skills.
