Senior Regulatory Business Analyst | FinTech

About the Role Global leading FinTech client is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to drive regulatory compliance and technological innovation in their dynamic financial software development team. This is a permanent position in Frankfurt and is offering a base salary of €70,000 – €80,000 + flexible working.

Key Responsibilities

As our Regulatory Business Analyst, you will be a critical strategic partner in:

Regulatory Interpretation & Requirements Management

• Transform complex regulatory frameworks (EBA FINREP, UK Bank of England, DE Bundesbank) into clear, actionable business requirements
• Develop comprehensive Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and Functional Specification Documents (FSDs) that bridge regulatory mandates with technological solutions
• Conduct in-depth analysis of financial regulations across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring precise interpretation and implementation

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with development teams to translate regulatory requirements into user-centric software features
• Facilitate communication between compliance, technology, and product management teams
• Design and execute test cases to validate regulatory compliance and software functionality
• Provide specialized regulatory insights during sales, pre-sales, and marketing initiatives

Strategic Impact

• Contribute to the development of market-leading financial software solutions
• Optimize operational efficiency through strategic regulatory interpretation
• Support continuous improvement of regulatory reporting processes

Ideal Candidate Profile

Professional Experience

• Minimum 5 years of Business Analysis experience in financial services
• Proven track record in regulatory reporting within banking, asset management, or financial technology sectors
• Deep understanding of financial reporting standards and banking regulations

Technical & Regulatory Expertise

• Advanced knowledge of:
  • EBA FINREP reporting standards
  • UK Bank of England Statistical Reports
  • German Bundesbank Statistical Reports
  • Basel regulatory frameworks
• Comprehensive understanding of financial products (bonds, loans, derivatives, collateral)
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, with advanced Excel skills
• Familiarity with business analysis methodologies (e.g., BABOK, Agile)

Required Skills

• Bilingual proficiency in English and German (written and spoken)
• Exceptional analytical capabilities with meticulous attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to translate complex regulatory language into clear technical specifications
• Collaborative team player with a strategic problem-solving approach

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certification in Business Analysis (CBAP, CCBA)
• Experience with regulatory reporting software or platforms
