Who You\’ll Work With

You will be based in one of our European offices as part of our Operations Practice.

Our Operations Practice assists clients in solving complex operational challenges by blending strategic thinking with practical implementation. Our teams develop and execute operational strategies to address critical client problems.

McKinsey’s Product Development & Procurement service line helps clients develop market-fit products, optimize margins, and enhance brand reputation for future growth. This includes defining, developing, and implementing strategies for innovation and business performance, as well as advising on strategic and operational procurement matters like global sourcing and supplier development.

Your Impact

As a consultant, you will identify issues, develop hypotheses, analyze data, and synthesize findings into actionable recommendations. You will participate in our two-year Operations Excellence Program (OEP), gaining hands-on consulting experience and structured training in operations excellence, including specialized areas such as manufacturing, product development, and supply chain management.

Upon completing the program, successful consultants join our global network of operational experts. You will also engage in functional training and knowledge development led by our operations specialists.

Qualifications and Skills

• Master’s degree with excellent academic records
• Experience in product development, including R&D projects and supplier management
• Experience in strategic purchasing and supply management, including sourcing strategies and negotiations
• Leadership experience in work or extracurricular activities
• Willingness to relocate within Europe
• Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
• Effective communication skills in English and local languages
