Job Description:

You will be based in one of our offices in Germany or Austria. You will work in teams and directly with our clients.

When you join McKinsey as a Junior Fellow, you join a firm that challenges you and invests heavily in your professional development. You will have the opportunity to work with top organizations across private, public, and social sectors to solve complex problems. You will collaborate with experts in data science, research, software, and app design.

You will work in teams of typically 3-5 consultants, playing an active role in all aspects of client engagement.

Your responsibilities will include gathering and analyzing information, formulating and testing hypotheses, and developing and communicating recommendations. You will also present results to client management and help implement recommendations alongside client team members.

You will receive exceptional training, frequent coaching, and mentoring from colleagues. This includes guidance from a partner assigned to your career development and several weeks of formal training. You will also receive support in selecting client projects to develop your skills and expand your network.

Most consultants initially have a broad focus, not requiring specific industry or functional expertise. For experienced professionals, this can mean building on previous knowledge or developing new areas of expertise.

• Undergraduate or master’s degree or 1-3 years of work experience after completing your degree
• Outstanding academic achievement
• Aptitude for analytics
• Proven leadership in work and/or extracurricular activities
• Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team
• Effective communication skills in English and the local office language(s)
