We look for trained health professionals who...
- Hold a higher-level degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree)in the areas of communications, marketing, journalism, fundraising, photography and/or video production
- Possess excellent verbal communication and writing skills, networking skills, and have a keen eye for storytelling
- Preferably have previous experience in social media, media relations, proposal writing, fundraising (especially digital marketing), and with CRMs (preferably Salesforce)
- Possess training and skills in project management, budget management, and people management—especially the training and empowering of other staff
- Are skilled at gathering, sorting, and prioritising information
The Head of Philanthropy leads Medair's philanthropy strategy and fundraising performance across Switzerland and Liechtenstein. The role provides strategic direction to the Individual and Institutional Philanthropy teams, ensuring aligned donor engagement, effective resource allocation and sustainable revenue growth.As part of the Engagement leadership team, the role contributes to Medair's global fundraising strategy, strengthens collaboration with affiliates and represents Medair externally with key philanthropic partners in Switzerland. It plays a key role in increasing Medair's visibility, influence and fundraising capacity while building a high-performing, donor-focused team.

Medair’s Relief & Recovery Orientation Course (ROC) is a one-week simulation course that will help determine if a humanitarian career with Medair is the right fit for you, and if you are a strong fit for Medair. After participating in the course, you will enter a “pool” of qualified candidates that are ready to be called upon to respond to humanitarian crises. When needs arise in our country programmes, we will offer you a position in line with your competencies and our needs. If you apply for an international position, the ROC will be mandatory for you to work in our country programmes.
