The Neuromodulation (NM) DACH Business Director has the pivotal role to establish, drive, and execute the Operating Unit (OU) vision and strategic business plans in the DACH Region.
As the Neuromodulation (NM) DACH Business Director, you will contribute to the attainment of financial and operational goals within the Operating Units in support of the company’s overall financial and strategic objectives with full P&L responsibilities.
You will be responsible for providing commercial & marketing leadership and strategic direction for Medtronic’s NM portfolio across the region.
You will drive cross-functional teams to achieve and exceed revenue, market share, and operating margin targets while positioning the business for sustainable long-term growth.
Business Management
- Develop and execute commercial plans to achieve short-term and long-term objectives.
- Contribute to the attainment of financial and operational goals within the OU and country/region.
- Establish budgets, short and long-range objectives, and criteria for monitoring progress.
- Ensure sales strategies are aligned to Operating Unit strategies.
- Oversee new product/market introductions and sales training programs.
- Provide strategy and direction for ongoing business development and marketing plans.
- Maintain long-range NM sales and marketing plans for the Region.
- Build long-term productive relationships with NM key decision-makers.
- Engage with sales leadership and marketing functions to establish a coordinated customer approach.
- Continuously work to gain proficiency in the industry and market.
- Ensure cooperation with Western Europe Marketing to implement initiatives.
- Support highest standards of Quality processes.
- Provide business intelligence insights and competitive activities.
Integrative People Leadership
- Lead and build a high-performing and engaged team of approximately 50 FTEs.
- Provide opportunities for personal growth and advancement.
- Design opportunities for talent development and accelerate the development of others.
- Build effective teams through hiring and development of direct reports.
- Ensure necessary and appropriate training for employees.
- Coordinate with other OU Leaders for alignment of sales with other functions.
- Promote a trusting and progressive culture within the team.
- Leverage matrix relationships to influence and align others.
- Demonstrate highest ethical and compliance standards.
Change / Transformation Leadership
- Lead the transformation of building trusted partnerships with customers.
- Champion change initiatives and mobilize teams to commit to strategic and cultural change.
Strategic Market Development
- Encourage the development of new market initiatives and assessment of business opportunities.
- Ensure cooperation with Western Europe therapy and program owners.
Job Qualifications and Experience
- BS/BA degree in marketing, economics, or biomedical engineering.
- MBA or additional Healthcare-related post-graduate degree is a plus.
- 10+ years of leadership experience in a business function.
- 7+ years of professional experience in Healthcare/Medical Devices/Pharma.
- Proven track record in developing and implementing strategy in the medical device industry.
- Experience navigating international business & regulatory environments.
- Experience managing fast-paced growth and mature business segments.
- Understanding of healthcare systems and reimbursement impacts.
- Experience leading high-performing teams and talent development.
- Fluency in English and German.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel 50 – 70% of the time.
