Overview

Mehler Protection is hiring a Teamlead (m/f/d) Supplier Quality to ensure that suppliers of ballistic materials meet quality requirements, conduct supplier audits, approve initial sample test reports and PPAP documentation for protective vest components, and monitor ballistic performance in cooperation with testing laboratories.

Responsibilities

• You are responsible for ensuring that suppliers of ballistic materials meet quality requirements.
• You conduct supplier audits in accordance with relevant standards (e.g. ISO 9001, AQAP, NIJ standard).
• You are responsible for reviewing and approving initial sample test reports and PPAP documentation for protective vest components.
• You will monitor and evaluate the ballistic performance of supplied parts in cooperation with testing laboratories.
• You will analyse complaints and errors in the supply chain and initiate appropriate corrective measures.
• You will work closely with the development and purchasing departments as well as external testing institutes.
• You will be responsible for maintaining and further developing supplier key performance indicators.

Your profile / Qualifications

• You have successfully completed a technical degree in materials engineering, textile engineering or materials science, or have a comparable qualification.
• You have several years of management and professional experience in quality management, ideally with ballistic protection systems or technical textiles.
• Ideally, you have experience with suppliers in high-security industries (e.g. defence, police, security services).
• You have knowledge of ballistic testing procedures and standards as well as quality methods such as FMEA, 8D, Ishikawa and SPC.
• You are characterised by a high sense of responsibility and quality awareness, as well as the ability to work in a team.
• You have very good written and spoken German and English skills.
• You are confident in using common MS Office applications.
• You are willing to travel for audits and supplier visits (including internationally).
