Therapeutic Area Manager (TAM) Solid Tumors (m/f/d)
Field based, Germany
Reports to the Regional Sales Lead Germany
The TAM is responsible for the sale and support of Stemline products to both existing and potential customers. The goals of this position are to acquire new customer business, increase market share through acquiring new accounts or expanding business in current customers, develop and encourage strong customer relationships, build brand loyalty, and to provide customer satisfaction. It is a role with an extremely high level of autonomy, visibility, and the unique chance to influence how Stemline is positioned in Germany.
Responsibilities
- Sell products to all potential and existing customers in designated territory to achieve overall territory revenue goals.
- Create strategic business plans for all key customer opportunities. Act as manager in the respective territory.
- Serve as a key business partner to clients and develop and maintain strong business relationships.
- Track, report and analyze territory opportunities with the Regional Sales Lead (RSL) on a routine basis.
- Develop relationships with hospital and office-based HCPs through conversations, meetings, participation in conferences; makes new contacts within hospital and in the office-based setting and identifies key decision makers to facilitate future orders.
- Provide post-sales support of all territory business.
- Respond to customer needs and complaints regarding products and/or service by developing feasible solutions or working with other related personnel (e.g. medical, marketing, market access, etc.) to develop optimal solutions.
- Plan, prioritize, monitor, and track all sales cycle events utilizing CRM.
- Monitor and report customer satisfaction or issues, to the RSL.
- Monitor and update individual forecasted product volume data on a regular basis.
- Responsible for meeting individual sales/business targets as provided by Management.
- Attend all required Quality & Compliance training at the specified interval.
- Ability to work flexible hours and weekends to meet business and/or customer needs as directed.
- Participate in any work activities as assigned by management.
- Build compliance into all aspects of their work by maintaining compliance to all Federal and State regulatory requirements.
Skills/Knowledge
- Clinical knowledge of hematology/oncology product category with strong up to date understanding of the breast cancer treatment landscape.
- Solid understanding and application of business concepts, procedures and practices.
- Demonstrated ability to exceed business plan/quota, and able to develop sales plans for all required opportunities.
- Capable of managing time and resources within the assigned territory in conjunction with near-term plans to ensure the territory’s objectives are achieved.
- Ensure compliance with governmental and Stemline regulations. Maintaining honesty, integrity and excellent work ethic.
- Able to enhance teamwork within the region and maintain a collaborative relationship with all levels of the organization.
- Implement assigned operations within an established budget.
- Able to influence others and function effectively in a team environment. Show a strong spirit for cross functional collaboration.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and listening skills.
- Entrepreneurial approach to market environments.
- Solid Microsoft Office skills in Excel, Word and Outlook and CRMs.
Qualifications
- An experienced field-based TAM, at least 5 years of experience in (biotechnology) pharmaceutical industry, at least 2 years experience in Breast Cancer (within the recent 5 years).
- Education in life sciences at academic or comparable level.
- Proven interest/expertise in scientific and clinical aspects paired with an entrepreneurial attitude and a tenacious ambition for commercial success.
- Outspoken and positive attitude in benefit/price aspects of innovative pharmaceutical products.
- Basic understanding of local reimbursement mechanisms, willing to engage with and support centers in any center related budget & reimbursement aspects.
- Strong intellectual and communication skills.
- Highly self-motivated, hands-on and acting independently.
- The role will be 100% field-based with comparatively large territories, requiring a high level of travel and mobility (at least 75% travel in the field).
- Languages: German (native or at least business fluent), English (high level).
