We are looking for a Senior Direct Procurement Category Manager – Mechanical Machining & Contract Manufacturing to join the team of one of our industrial clients as a Consultant.
Your Responsabilities Your main mission will be to define and deploy a mid-to-long-term procurement strategy for the
Mechanical Machining, Peripheral Products, Machine & Module Assembly, and Sub-Assembly Outsourcing
categories, with the objective of optimizing the sourcing footprint, supplier panel, operating model, and overall supply chain performance.
As part of your role, you will:
1. Define the Category Strategy
Develop a 5-year category strategy aligned with the client's business objectives.
Define sourcing strategies, make-or-buy decisions, and nearshoring opportunities.
Establish supplier segmentation and the target supplier panel.
2. Design the Target Operating Model
Define the governance model, stakeholder interfaces, and decision-making processes.
Develop the category performance framework and associated KPIs.
3. Strengthen Supplier Performance and Supply Chain Resilience
Develop supplier risk management and mitigation strategies.
Define dual-sourcing approaches, capacity management plans, and business continuity initiatives.
Recommend operational improvements for both forecast-driven and Purchase-to-Order manufacturing models.
4. Support the Procurement Transformation
Lead strategic workstreams as part of the procurement transformation programme.
Coach and develop the incumbent Category Manager throughout the engagement.
Support the recruitment of a future Category Leader by contributing to role definition and candidate assessment.
5. Deliver Strategic Outputs
Prepare the category roadmap and implementation plan.
Develop executive-level presentations and recommendations for senior leadership.
Monitor project milestones and ensure the successful delivery of key strategic objectives.
About You
Master's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Business, Procurement, Supply Chain, or a related field.
Experience in strategic procurement within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Expertise in Mechanical Machining, Contract Manufacturing, Mechanical Assembly, Industrial Outsourcing, or similar manufacturing categories.
Solid understanding of strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, make-or-buy analysis, supplier segmentation, and supply chain risk management.
Experience leading procurement transformation or strategic sourcing initiatives in complex industrial organizations.
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders, including Procurement, Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex challenges into actionable strategies.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
Self-driven, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced international environment.
Fluent in English, French is considered an asset.
