Your role

Your role as Machine Learning Project Manager is the direct link between our engineering team and our customers. This is an extremely versatile position – you will be interacting with developers, customers, business teams, and other stakeholders on a daily basis. Therefore, it is key for you to have well-rounded business acumen as well as good background knowledge about ML and its technical implementation. In order to build and cultivate outstanding relationships with our clients, we need a person who is passionate about immersing themselves in versatile problem-settings to shape custom-tailored ML solutions that have a lasting positive impact. Next to steering projects, Project Managers at Momentum are hands-on contributors to the solution development process, e.g. by building prototypes, facilitating user discovery workshops, or providing guidance on AI governance.

• Project Management: Ensure smooth execution of ML projects to deliver maximum value to clients while mindfully taking into account technical and organizational constraints.
• Discovery & Value Engineering: Understand processes and pain points of clients, mapping them into ML problems and conceptualizing user-centric ML solutions with validated business value.
• Requirements Engineering: Identify, document and manage (non)functional requirements along a ML project, continuously thinking from a user perspective.
• AI Consulting: Support our clients with AI adoption at every stage – from use case ideation and data collection strategies to change management and production roll-out.
• Business Development: Contribute your ideas to strategically shape our offering as well as internal processes. Take ownership for a specific topic or industry vertical, manage respective client interactions and represent the Merantix brand.
• System Design: Create wireframes and prototypes, sketch solution architectures (e.g. C4 models) with a focus on value creation for clients, manage communication with stakeholders and take ownership for shaping the vision of solutions.

The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about ML development, a strong team player, feels comfortable shifting between tech & business and is always up for a challenge. We are looking for passionate, capable, visionary, and pragmatic talents with proven track records of personal, academic, and professional achievements. Our hierarchy is flat and communication direct, which means that we operate and learn fast, as a team.

You would be a great fit if you have:

• Team player: Strong commitment to the team and Merantix vision, and a positive attitude represented by a hands-on, collaborative approach.
• Drive: Strong personal motivation and sense of ownership, shown in organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize appropriately and effectively investigate problems using data.
• Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of ML applications paired with relevant industry experience (manufacturing, healthcare, pharma, or public sector are a plus!).
• Entrepreneurial Mindset: Creative, highly motivated and hands-on no matter the task. You love what you do (and own it)!
• Client Centricity: You have experience working with and for clients, engaging with them and managing exchanges whilst steering projects with them.
• Track Record: Degree in Engineering, Data Science, Business Analytics or similar and first working experience in tech corporate, tech startup or management consultancy.
• Language skills: Ability to explore use cases, manage ML projects and own client communication fluently in both English and German.
