Global Sustainability Manager Surface Solution (all genders, full-/part-time)

Your Role:
Join the sustainability team at Surface Solutions as a Global Sustainability Manager. In this pivotal role, you will ensure supply chain traceability and transparency in compliance with German and EU laws, as well as align with customer expectations for our product portfolio. You will translate customer requirements and sustainability legislation into actionable business unit targets while managing and communicating customer expectations based on a deep understanding of our strategy and strengths.

As the focal point for partnerships with consortia, NGOs, and relevant companies, you will have the end-to-end responsibility for data collection/provision from suppliers to our customers and for transparency in the supply chain.

Collaborating closely with procurement, you will trace sensitive supply chains back to their origins, enhancing transparency and compliance. Your efforts will include supporting suppliers in meeting legal obligations and leading mitigation task forces when necessary.

By defining and trending meaningful KPIs, you will facilitate the achievement of our sustainability objectives within a global team dedicated to Product Compliance, Sustainability, and Quality Oversight.

Who You Are:

1. Master\’s degree (or higher) in chemistry, natural science, engineering, environment, or sustainability.
2. Over five years of experience in sustainability-related roles with a strong understanding of sustainability processes.
3. Proven ability to manage projects in a matrix environment and collaborate cross-functionally on a global scale.
4. Excellent analytical skills, process-oriented thinking, and a solution-focused mindset.
5. Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills in English and German.
6. High customer focus, self-motivated, with a passion for networking.
7. Willingness to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.
8. Enthusiasm for sustainability and a commitment to driving change within the supply chain.

Location:

Preferred location of this position is our headquarter in Darmstadt, but it can also be located at any other location or even remote with travel required to meet with key partners.
