pEstablished in 2004, Mercuria is one of the leading integrated energy and commodity trading companies in the world. We bring energy markets together to support the needs of today by trading, structuring finance, and investing into strategic assets, while generating more than $110 billion in turnover. /ppOur operations span over 50 countries on 5 continents, including all the major energy hubs. We trade physical oil, energy products, environmental products and other commodities from Geneva, London, Singapore, Shanghai, Beijing, Dubai, Houston, Calgary and Greenwich (CT). /ppWe are committed to advancing the transition to a more sustainable, affordable and reliable energy system for tomorrow. Over 50% of our assets are in low carbon energy transition sectors - providing a strong platform to trade these new markets and support decarbonization. /ppIn 2023, we established Silvania, a $500 million fund, investing into restoration and protection of nature and biodiversity globally and in support of the Paris Agreement goals UN 30x30 biodiversity initiative. This new asset class supports nature protection and provides sustainable financial returns. /ppWe are seeking a Vice President to join Mercuria's Investment Team and play a central role in executing principal investments across the Group's commodity footprint. This is a hands-on execution role for someone who has worked on transactions through to close, is looking to take on greater ownership of deals from diligence through to signing and integration, and is comfortable putting an investment case in front of Investment Committee. /ppMercuria invests its own balance sheet, which gives the team an unusually flexible mandate: equity and structured or hybrid capital, control and minority positions, joint ventures, platform build-outs and corporate MA, frequently alongside commercial arrangements originated by the trading desks. /ph3Key Responsabilities /h3ulliStructure and execute principal investments through equity, structured and hybrid capital, joint ventures, platform investments and corporate MA across upstream and midstream energy, power and infrastructure, metals and minerals and the energy transition. /liliWork across transactions end to end, including but not limited to valuation and structuring, diligence workstreams, adviser selection and management, negotiation and closing, and the first phase of post-closing integration or value creation. /liliSupport the negotiation of commercial and legal terms alongside counsel and senior members of the team, covering share purchase and subscription agreements, shareholder and joint venture agreements, offtake, tolling and supply contracts, and acquisition and asset-level financing documentation. /liliProduce materials for and present to Investment Committee, framing the investment thesis, the risks and mitigants, and supporting the recommendation to senior management. /liliPartner with the trading desks, structured finance, risk, treasury, legal, tax and compliance so that every investment is commercially coherent with the Group's trading flows and risk appetite. /liliHelp manage portfolio investments post-closing, including board observer roles, value creation and capital allocation planning, refinancings, follow-on capital and exit preparation. /liliGuide and develop analysts and associates by directing their workstreams on live deals, reviewing their modelling and written work, and providing day-to-day mentoring. /liliBuild and maintain relationships over time with sponsors, management teams, banks, advisers, co-investors and intermediaries, contributing to the team's deal flow. /li /ulh3Experience and qualifications /h3ulliAround seven or more years of relevant experience in principal investing, private equity or infrastructure investing, a commodity trading house's investment or corporate development team, or a natural resources investment banking role with buy-side exposure. /liliA track record of working on transactions through to close. Candidates should be able to speak in detail to the deals they worked on, including structure, negotiation dynamics and subsequent performance. /liliSector knowledge in one or more of energy, power and renewables, infrastructure, metals and mining, or the energy transition, with the breadth to underwrite credibly outside that core. /liliStrong technical skills in valuation and financial structuring, with the accounting, tax and legal literacy to work effectively alongside advisers. /liliSound commercial judgement and the ability to represent Mercuria credibly with counterparties and management teams. /liliSome experience supervising or mentoring junior colleagues. /li /ulh3Personal Attributes /h3ulliDemonstrates initiative and commercial drive, takes ownership early and works effectively where structure is light and priorities shift. /liliCommercially pragmatic and able to distinguish the risks that matter from those that merely appear in a diligence report. /liliDirect and collegiate in a flat organisation where influence is earned through judgement rather than title. /liliHigh integrity and strong instinct for reputational, sanctions and compliance risk in complex jurisdictions. /li /ul #J-18808-Ljbffr
