Key Responsibilities of the Role:
- Reports to the Mechanical Project Manager and acts as the package owner for the assigned scope (e.g., chilled water, ventilation, plumbing, heat rejection).
- Owns day‑to‑day delivery of the package to safety, quality, schedule, and cost targets; leads internal supervisors/engineers and subcontractors.
- Lead toolbox talks and verify RAMS/permits for the package; implement the package ITP/ITRs and enforce a “Right First Time” culture.
- Review IFC/design drawings and specifications; raise/track RFIs and technical queries; drive BIM/model coordination to resolve clashes and produce construction/fabrication drawings and isometrics.
- Confirm builders’ works, penetrations, supports and setting‑out are complete ahead of installation; maintain redlines and ensure timely as‑builts.
- Develop and manage rolling 3–6 week lookaheads aligned to the baseline; track WBS % complete, labour, material take‑offs and EMR; report variances and recovery actions to the Mechanical PM.
- Support commercial controls with the Project QS: valuations, variations/claims, notifications and change logs; maintain photographic and QA evidence.
- Contribute to tender packages and technical assessments; plan long‑lead equipment and field‑need dates; coordinate FAT/SAT, deliveries, storage/preservation, goods receipting and traceability.
- Coordinate daily with CSA/Electrical/ICT/Fire to secure work fronts and interfaces; verify workmanship and code/spec compliance; manage hold points and quality walkdowns.
- Administer the snagging/punch process and drive real‑time closure.
- Plan and execute pressure tests, flushing/cleanliness, chemical treatment and valve proving as applicable; coordinate functional performance tests and BMS/EPMS integration.
- Compile O&M inputs, QA/Safety File entries and close‑out documentation to achieve area/system handover readiness.
- Operate within the ISO 19650‑aligned CDE; manage transmittals, submittals, approvals, and version control; use model‑based coordination and short‑interval planning dashboards.
- Potable water: DIN EN 806 / DIN 1988 (TRWI); drinking water hygiene: VDI 6023.
- Hydronic systems water treatment: VDI 2035. Refrigeration & cooling safety: EN 378.
- Building automation & controls alignment: ISO 16484 / VDI 3814.
Essential Criteria for the Role:
- Mechanical Engineering degree (or equivalent).
- 3-5 years’ experience delivering mechanical packages on large installation projects (mission‑critical/data centres advantageous).
- Demonstrated leadership of subcontractors and field teams; clear communication and coordination skills.
- Technical competence across HVAC/chilled water/ventilation/plumbing & drainage with BMS interfaces.
- Proven experience with testing & commissioning workflows and close‑out documentation.
- Proficient with BIM/CAD and CDE‑based document control; strong IT skills (Excel, scheduling tools).
- Delivery experience to EN 50600 with familiarity of PUE/WUE targets and energy KPI reporting.
- Hands‑on digital delivery using ISO 19650 CDE workflows and 4D planning.
- Experience coordinating district heat reuse or waste‑heat offtake solutions in compliance with EnEfG.
- Commissioning of high‑density cooling (in‑row, rear‑door, liquid cooling) and integration with facility monitoring.
- Strong negotiation skills and supply‑chain resilience planning for long‑lead mechanical equipment (chillers, AHUs, cooling towers, pumps).
- Refrigeration & cooling safety: comply with EN 378 for refrigerating systems and heat pumps.
