Public Policy Manager, Germany, Austria, Switzerland (12 Months Contract)
We are looking for a Public Policy expert who can combine an interest in innovative technologies and services such as AI with knowledge of the political and regulatory environment as well as experience in working with policy stakeholders in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Successful applicants will become part of a thriving team that is dealing with some of the most interesting public policy and regulatory issues of our times including regulation of AI, competition, harmonization of EU regulation and driving a policy agenda focussed on innovation and economic growth. This role will be based in Berlin and is a 12 months maternity leave cover, ideally starting by the end of May 2025 till end of May 2026.
Responsibilities
- Development and execution of policy strategies and policy narratives together with other teams to achieve company goals in public policy.
- Help build coalitions with other organizations such as trades, associations and companies to advance policy goals of Meta.
- Represent Meta in meetings with government officials and elected members of parliament.
- Monitor legislation affecting Meta in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and advise the company with respect to policy challenges.
- Support Public Policy Team with organization of events and bilateral meetings as well as internal administrative tasks.
Minimum Qualifications
- A Master\’s degree in Political Science, Sociology, European Studies or related field.
- Experience working on relevant policy and regulatory issues such as AI, platform regulation, competition, innovation more broadly and youth protection.
- Experience in working with politicians and government officials as well as in assessing and explaining complex policy issues.
- Belief in the social and economic benefits of new technologies, such as AI and Meta and its products in particular.
- Full fluency in German and English language skills required.
- Experience in working with cross-functional teams from a wide range of disciplines.
