Analyst / Associate Venture Development (m/f/d) | Berlin | ASAP
At metrify, Germany’s leading independent smart meter operator, we’re looking for an Analyst / Associate to join our Venture Development team in Berlin.
Smart meters are the digital backbone of the energy transition: they create transparency, make the grid more efficient and unlock new energy applications at scale. Germany’s rollout is one of the country’s biggest infrastructure projects, and it’s only just getting started. Around 50 million meters are set to go digital, only about 6% have switched so far, and the government is targeting more than 90% of relevant metering points by 2030. This creates a unique opportunity to be part of a hyper-growth market at an early stage.
metrify is setting the pace with 100,000+ customers, nationwide installation capacity and our own tech platform, which automates the entire metering process from installation to clearing.
The role
This role is placed within our Venture Development unit focused on special projects across the company. You’ll work with teams across the organization on strategic pushes, new business ideas and long-term initiatives that shape metrify’s next stage of growth. You’ll lead your own projects end to end, with direct exposure to our MDs and all the resources you need to succeed.
What you’ll work on
- Lead cross-functional pushes, align stakeholders and drive topics to implementation
- Own special projects and long-term initiatives across the entire value chain, from first analysis and business case to pilot and rollout
- Identify new opportunities with business cases and market analyses, B2B and B2C
- Build new partner and customer acquisition channels
What you bring
- A completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, economics, engineering, data science or a related field. Non-traditional paths are just as welcome: we care about what you can do, not just where you studied.
- First professional experience (0–2 years or several internships) in a startup, scale-up, consulting or investment environment
- Strong analytical skills, understanding of business models and a structured, hands-on way of working
- Confidence with Excel and slides, and a tech-enabled way of working with AI, low-code tools and automations
- Ownership, reliability and genuine interest in the energy market
- Fluent English (German is a plus) and readiness to work full-time on-site in Berlin
What we offer
- The chance to actively shape the energy transition in one of Germany’s most dynamic energy markets
- Responsibility from day one and a steep learning curve alongside our MDs (ex-McKinsey, KIT & ex-Aurelius, Bucerius)
- A team of highly skilled, top-profile colleagues across all functions
