SAP Ariba Solution Architect (m / f / d)

The main objective of the LUCA program is to successfully upgrade METRO\’s Finance to SAP S/4HANA and SAP Ariba to ensure business continuity and avoid security and compliance risks. The program also aims to enable METRO\’s strategy for standardization, harmonization, and centralization.

Within the LUCA program, the SAP Ariba Solution Architect is a specialized role focused on the technical implementation of SAP Ariba solutions to optimize indirect procurement processes. This role requires a good understanding of SAP Ariba modules such as SAP Ariba Sourcing, SAP Buying and Invoicing, Guided Buying, and Invoice Management, with particular emphasis on hands-on experience with integration between SAP Ariba and S/4HANA, as well as supplier integration capabilities within Commerce Automation.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the technical lead for SAP Ariba rollouts and enhancements.
• Review initial requirements against current business processes to identify gaps or opportunities for improvement.
• Provide advice on integration implementation approaches and their implications.
• Support process leads and owners by offering insights on integration architecture and alignment with business needs.
• Oversee configuration of Cloud Integration Gateway.
• Support API usage for data exchange with SAP Ariba.
• Assist in onboarding suppliers to the Ariba Network.
• Configure SAP Ariba modules, including approval workflows, document numbering, interface settings, etc.
• Support data migration activities for master and transactional data.
• Participate in testing phases, including defect resolution.
• Support deployment activities and hypercare.
• Contribute to Service Management by reviewing incidents and change requests.
• Drive adherence to IT Security Standards and IT Audit action plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor\’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of hands-on technical experience with SAP Ariba, with strong knowledge of Commerce Automation and API-based integration.
• Hands-on experience with Ariba integration methods: CIG, APIs, IDocs, Web Services, or middleware tools (e.g., SAP PI/PO, BTP).
• Proficiency in Ariba Network configuration and document mapping (orders, confirmations, ship notices, invoices).
• Familiarity with SAP ERP modules related to procurement (SAP S/4HANA or ECC), such as SAP MM and Master Data.
• Experience supporting or implementing Ariba modules: Sourcing, Contracts, Buying, Invoicing, Commerce Automation.
• Understanding of SAP Ariba network configurations and master data flow.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Excellent command of English (written and spoken).
• Willingness to travel is required.
