Your mission

• As a senior developer you are expected to interact with Product Management, Quality Assurance and the Developer Team to qualify feature requests, improvements and bugs.
• You like to deeply understand and analyse tasks/problems and find sustainable and appropriate solutions. We do web-development. Readable and proper code, as well as tests are a must, but every solution has to be set in relation to the outcome.
• Sometimes you will have to work on bugs. It can be tedious, but it helps to get a better understanding of the system.
• Your knowledge is valued at MICE Portal, and we’d like you to articulate and share it. We discuss tickets, have scheduled knowledge sharing sessions, and 1-on-1s with our Head of Development and our Product Managers are always available. Being an active part helps us and yourself to grow.
• Code Reviews are an important part of our development cycle. Getting second opinions matters to reflect and learn; commenting on others‘ work helps to learn, interact, and improve.
• You will have ample time to write code at MICE Portal.

Your profile

Our Tech-Stack: Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes.

• Professional experience as a software developer and experience in the development of web-based applications as well as in TDD.
• Experience with Scrum or similar agile methods.
• Intrinsic motivation to write readable and maintainable code.
• Good knowledge of software development in Ruby on Rails or similar frameworks.
• Ability to work responsibly and know when to reach out to colleagues.
• Good knowledge of software architecture, especially in OOP.
• Experience with Unix systems.
• Very good knowledge of English in spoken and written.
