HVAC Project Engineer in Genève

Overview

In this role you guide major HVAC and building technology modernization within a complex, occupied campus. You will coordinate multi‑technical efforts across HVAC, electrical, fire protection and other trades to ensure continuity of operations during renovations. You’ll manage feasibility studies, tendering, procurement, and project execution while upholding safety and regulatory standards. The opportunity combines technical leadership with cross‑functional collaboration in an international setting, shaping critical infrastructure improvements. Verantwortungsbereiche

• Conduct site surveys and feasibility studies for building technical installations
• Define technical requirements for HVAC, ventilation, cooling, heating and sanitary systems
• Review and coordinate engineering studies across trades (HVAC, electrical, fire protection)
• Prepare tender documents, support procurement, evaluate bids, and draft award recommendations
• Coordinate project execution, ensuring compliance with specifications, safety standards and regulations
• Collaborate with operations, security and stakeholders to maintain activity continuity during works
• Support commissioning and handover of installations to operations teams
• Monitor progress, risks, delays and budget deviations; propose corrective actions
• Follow up on defects during acceptance and warranty periods
• Coordinate temporary installations and logistics required for project implementation

Zentrale Anforderungen

• University degree in HVAC/CVC engineering, mechanical engineering or related fields
• Minimum 6 years of experience in design and construction of building technical installations
• Proven experience in multi‑technical coordination on complex projects
• Experience with large renovation projects in occupied buildings in Switzerland
• Solid knowledge of building technical systems (HVAC, electricity, sanitary, MCR, fire protection)
• Strong understanding of operational continuity requirements on active sites
• Extensive knowledge of SIA standards and applicable technical regulations
• Strong communication skills with both technical and non‑technical audiences
• Excellent organizational, analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; BIM knowledge is a strong asset
• Fluent in French (oral and written) with good command of English
