Über die Rolle
A world class organisation, developing advanced automation platforms that enable the testing and evaluation of next-generation precision technologies, is searching for an Electrical Automation Engineer to join their skilled team.
As part of the R&D organization, you will play a key role in designing, building, and commissioning the electrical infrastructure that powers their laboratory automation systems.
Working closely with local engineering teams, you will help transform innovative concepts into reliable, high-performance test environments.
This is a hands-on role for an experienced automation engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and contributing to cutting-edge research and development in an international, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Own the electrical backbone of the Automation Lab workbenches.
- Design and build electrical frameworks for testing and evaluating precision subassemblies.
- Design electrical cabinets based on R&D requirements.
- Integrate and commission precision motion controllers, stages, sensors, signal hubs, camera systems, IPCs, and pneumatic components.
- Ensure test environments are ready according to project schedules.
- Support process flow programming, testing, troubleshooting, and technical evaluations with R&D teams.
- Maintain clear, accurate, and transparent technical documentation.
- Learn and work with proprietary Process Control software platform, collaborating with HQ and local teams.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Engineering Physics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience building automation solutions.
- Strong knowledge of automation technologies, including motion control, sensors, and pneumatics.
- Hands-on experience designing and building electrical cabinets (Electrically Qualified Person/Elektrofachkraft preferred).
- Solid expertise in electrical system design and documentation; experience with 3D printing is a plus.
- Strong English communication and presentation skills.
- Team-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in an international environment.
