Lab Director - Ethernet Technology

This client is a leading innovator in networking technologies.

They are searching for a hands on Lab Director to build and lead their teams in Ethernet technology development.

Key tasks :

• Overseeing and driving top-level architecture design and technical roadmap for the next generation of Ethernet interfaces and networking technologies
• Researches system-level implementation and performance optimization of ETH interfaces, and conducts innovative research and implementation optimization on bottom-layer encoding and decoding algorithms and protocols such as end-to-end physical layer and data link layer
• Proactive in following the latest trends of Ethernet technologies, have a detailed insight into the latest standards (IEEE .3, OIF, MSA, etc.) and custom standards opportunities, regularly output standard project analysis, and provide technical planning and standard planning suggestions.
• Strategic planning for the department in line with the mission and in co-ordination with the team at HQ
• Responsible for initiating and driving collaboration with industry, academia and research centers.
• High level technical leadership and development of the team

Your areas of expertise

• Strong expertise and knowledge in the evolution and industry trends of Ethernet technologies
• In-depth experience of Ethernet application scenarios, participation in standard organizations and MSAs related to Ethernet and optical modules
• Good insight into key technologies at the MAC, logical, and electrical layers of next-gen Ethernet
• Understanding of how to address the challenges faced by products in the Ethernet interface direction.
• Proficiency in IEEE .3 standard rules, strong knowledge in the implementation of the logic layer technology on the chip
• Hands on IC experience, strong practical and problem solving skills.
• Proven success and expertise in leadership and management skills.
• Outstanding intercultural communication, organisational and coordination skills.
• Fluent in English. Skills in German language is a plus.
• Master\‘ s or PHD’s degree in Computer science or any related areas.
