As part of the Fashion Propositions Customer Experience Department, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced product professional to join as Principal Product Manager for the Fashion assortment.

The Fashion Proposition Customer Experience Department is dedicated to crafting exceptional experiences that address the unique needs of customers shopping Zalando’s Young Fashion, Modern, Streetwear, and Premium assortments. As the Principal Product Manager, you will define and lead the development of core features and capabilities, further enhancing and personalizing the shopping journey for Zalando’s largest customer base.

WHAT WE\’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

  1. Develop a comprehensive product strategy & vision (1-2 years) for the Fashion Proposition, and be the accountable leader for shaping an actionable roadmap and executing on it with a high degree of autonomy, transparency, and resilience.

  2. Drive the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from discovery to execution, including defining problems, sizing the opportunity, identifying the best solution, coordinating product design and development efforts, supporting user testing, and ensuring successful product delivery.

  3. Collaborate closely with the Platform Product Managers (ZCP) and Propositions PMs to identify common customer needs that you can turn into scalable capabilities.

  4. Use data-driven insights to identify areas for improvement, drive product optimizations, and report on the effectiveness of implemented strategies. Analyze trends and customer feedback to identify market-leading opportunities and act as a thought leader for technology-driven innovation in your domain.

  5. Act as the key product counterpart for Engineering, Design, and Analytics teams in your domain, providing thought leadership on product methodology and best practices.

  6. Collaborate effectively to ensure alignment, obtain buy-in, and drive successful implementation of product initiatives across multiple teams and disciplines. Engage with product leads from various departments to influence their roadmaps for collective success.

  7. Regularly communicate updates, progress, and outcomes to key stakeholders, including senior leadership, department heads, and cross-functional teams. Present findings, recommendations, and business cases to gain support and secure resources for product initiatives.

WE\’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

  • Product methods & tools: Several years of Product Management experience leading customer-facing products in a cross-functional setup. Strong understanding of product methods, tools, and analytical approaches.

  • Product Vision & Strategy: Ability to set and communicate a product vision, manage the end-to-end product lifecycle, and translate ideas into strategic documents and requirements.

  • Customer mindset: Experience understanding customer needs and developing solutions that deliver business impact.

  • Technical Acumen: Experience in transforming customer needs into technology products at scale, in a technical environment.

  • Collaboration: Empathetic, team-oriented, and influential in leading cross-functional teams without hierarchical authority.

  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills, capable of engaging diverse audiences, including executives.

  • Analytical acumen: Skilled in analyzing data and customer insights to inform product decisions and measure success.

  • Commercial Acumen: Ability to assess the impact of plans using market and business data.

  • Multiple domains: Experience navigating complex, ambiguous environments with cross-functional teams.
