Join the MIKUTA team as our Senior Accountant (d/f/m)! Play a crucial role in managing our financial operations and ensuring seamless processes as we continue to grow. If you have a strong background in accounting and thrive in dynamic environments, we’d love to hear from you!

ABOUT THE JOB
We’re expanding rapidly, and to support our Finance Department, we’re looking for a Senior Accountant who likes owning the numbers and doing the work themselves. You’ll keep our books accurate day to day, make inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS) reliable under German GAAP (HGB), and help build the processes that let us grow.
Key Responsibilities:
This is a hands-on role. You won’t be overseeing the work from a distance. You’ll be the person who knows why every number is what it is.
-
Run the day-to-day books: ledger maintenance, reconciliations and accounts payable, from start to finish.
-
Own inventory accounting and COGS accuracy under HGB. This includes leading our DATEV–Shopify reconciliation project.
-
Prepare the monthly accrual reports.
-
Support month-end and year-end close, following our close calendar
-
Support German tax compliance and work with our external tax advisors and auditors
-
Support internal and external audits from preparation through to follow-up
-
Keep our process documentation clear, complete and up to date
-
Work with FP&A on COGS forecasting and margin analysis when needed
ABOUT YOU
-
At least 5 years of experience in an accounting role
-
Direct experience with HGB and German tax, not only IFRS
-
Hands-on experience with inventory accounting and COGS valuation under HGB
-
Confidence doing reconciliations yourself, not just reviewing them, in a high-volume environment
-
Comfort working across multiple legal entities and inter-company structures
-
Strong analytical skills, close attention to detail and solid organisational skills
-
Fluent German and good working knowledge of English
Nice to have
-
Experience with DATEV
-
Experience in a direct-to-consumer (DTC) business
-
A Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related field
