Job description You will be responsible for the new and further development of the software for our cutting edge analysis devices. This enables researchers to visualize and analyse biological structures and interactions in an unprecedented level of detail – for example in neurology, immunology and cancer research. You will also be responsible for the technical and disciplinary management of a cross-location department and act as a close sparring partner for our management. You will ensure the efficient and high-quality development of our software products – as a stand-alone product or integrated into instruments for research or clinical use. You design your roadmaps within an agile setting and at the same time take into account the requirements of a regulated environment. In close collaboration with the Software Platform team, you will create a „One Software“ for the analytics area, optimize our development infrastructure and ensure transparency and consistency. You will manage our Center of Excellence for image processing and algorithm development. Here, you will continuously develop your teams professionally, promote the strengths of the team members and build further synergies in collaboration and technology. In our highly interdisciplinary environment, you will work closely with other departments. As a member of our Global Software Leadership Team, you will provide decisive impetus for the further development of our Global Software Development Organization. Qualifications You have successfully completed a degree in computer science or a classical natural science. Ideally you have a doctorate. In addition, you have sound knowledge in the development and management of software application portfolios and can look back on experience in spatial biology, other imaging topics, flow cytometry or next generation sequencing. Your many years of management experience, including in the management of other managers, sets you apart. You enjoy both the big picture and the technological details. You have experience in software development. We would particularly appreciate a background in C++. You also have expertise in hands-on data analysis.
