Position Overview
Responsible for building and maintaining direct customer relationships to achieve ambitious sales targets and increase market share within the assigned territory. This role combines new business acquisition with the management of existing accounts and requires strong relationship-building skills alongside solid technical product knowledge.
Role Functions
New Business Development & Acquisition
Actively identify and acquire new customers within the assigned territory through strategic outreach, competitive analysis, and targeted market penetration activities. Drive market share growth by converting competitor accounts and opening new market segments.
Direct Customer Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in healthcare institutions, including senior leadership, clinical heads, and procurement professionals. Act as the primary point of contact for all sales-related activities.
Achievement of Sales Targets
Drive quarterly and annual revenue, order intake, and margin targets through effective territory management, opportunity development, and execution of the full sales cycle. Maintain accurate forecasting and pipeline management via CRM systems.
Management of Complex Sales Cycles
Navigate complex healthcare procurement processes, including tenders and RFPs involving multiple stakeholders. Coordinate internal resources to support high-value opportunities.
Customer Management & Growth
Develop strategic account plans for key customers, identifying growth opportunities and strengthening long-term partnerships.
Product Demonstrations & Technical Sales
Deliver compelling product demonstrations and technical presentations to healthcare professionals, showcasing clinical and competitive advantages. Collaborate with clinical application specialists and technical teams. Transport and demonstrate equipment (up to 25 kg).
Market Research & Competitive Analysis
Monitor competitor activity, market trends, and customer feedback. Provide insights to internal teams to support strategy and product development.
Customer Solution Development
Work closely with customers to understand clinical and operational challenges and develop tailored solutions.
Define pricing strategies and negotiate commercial terms for complex deals while ensuring compliance and margin optimization.
Customer Satisfaction & Retention
Ensure an outstanding customer experience throughout the sales lifecycle and beyond. Proactively address customer concerns.

Qualifications & Experience

- 3–5 years of direct sales experience in medical devices or similar B2B industries
- Understanding of healthcare procurement processes
- Experience in account management
- Knowledge of patient monitoring and life-support systems is advantageous
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- High level of self-organization and accountability
- Valid driver’s license
- Willingness to travel extensively (approx. 60–80%)
- Fluent German and good English skills
