We're recruiting for a Stakeholder & Engagement Manager here at Justice Digital, Data and Science to be part of our warm and collaborative Strategic Engagement team.

This is a pivotal coordination and engagement role, focused on improving how we communicate about the products and services we build, and the outcomes we deliver.

You will work at the centre of engagement and communications within Justice Digital, Data and Science and have a dedicated focus on a specific business unit area connecting delivery teams with central communications functions to ensure the right information is available, aligned, and used effectively.

You will play a key role in improving the visibility of delivery and impact, and in ensuring stakeholders have a clear and consistent understanding of priorities and progress, as well as blockers and the support we need to remove them.

This is not a standalone communications role.

Instead, it focuses on coordinating, shaping and enabling engagement and communications activity within the specific business area.,

  • Surface delivery progress and outcomes, and shape narrative
  • Proactively identify key delivery milestones, priorities and impact
  • Translate complex delivery activity into clear, accessible messaging and outputs
  • Maintain forward visibility of upcoming activity to support proactive engagement
  • Coordinate with communications teams
  • Act as the interface between a specific delivery area within Justice Digital, Data and Science and the central Justice Digital, Data and Science Strategic Engagement team.
  • Provide high-quality, timely content and context to support communications planning and delivery
  • Ensure alignment of messaging across teams, stakeholders and end users
  • Commission and coordinate inputs
  • Coordinate inputs from delivery teams to support engagement and communication needs
  • Commission briefings, artefacts and supporting materials where required
  • Ensure consistency, accuracy and quality of outputs
  • Manage stakeholder relationships
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Act as a key point of contact for engagement relating to delivery activity
  • Support joined up working across teams, including with partner organisations
  • Enable reuse and reduce demand
  • Develop and maintain a repository of key materials (e. g. briefings, slides, case studies)
  • Ensure materials are accessible and reusable to reduce duplication
  • Support responses to information requests effectively and efficiently

The Mo J offers Hybrid Working arrangements where business need allows.

This is an informal, non-contractual form of flexible working that blends working from your base location, different Mo J sites and / or from home (please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas).

All employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in an office, subject to local estate capacity.

Some roles will not be suitable for Hybrid Working.

Similarly, Hybrid Working will not suit everyone's circumstances.

Arrangements will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate(s) and subject to regular review.

For nationally advertised roles: All successful candidates will be appointed to the nearest viable office nearest to their home postcode and on its respective pay scale.

This will be at either a HQ building (subject to desk allocation, a Justice Collaboration Centre (JCC) or a Justice Satellite Office (JSO) - See Map.

All employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in an office, subject to local estate capacity).

For current Mo J employees, your base location will need to be changed to the nearest viable office (to your home postcode), either at a HQ building, JCC or JSO within the National Office Network and moved its location's respective pay scale (any legacy arrangements/locations will need to be amended).

Some of Mo J's terms and conditions of service are changing as part of Civil Service reform.

The changes will apply to staff joining Mo J who are new to the Civil Service.

Staff joining Mo J from other civil service employers will transfer onto the new Mo J terms if they are already on 'modernised' terms in their current post or onto 'unmodernised' Mo J terms if they are on 'unmodernised' terms at their current post.

Details will be available if an offer is made.

Mo J candidates who are on a specialist grade, will be able to retain their grade on lateral transfer.

All candidates who are currently in receipt of Mark Time / Pay Protection should ensure they are familiar with the new policy on permanent and temporary promotion which can be found on the employee intranet.

Flexible working hours The Ministry of Justice offers a flexible working system in many offices.

Standard full time working hours are 37 hours per week.

Mo J welcomes part-time, flexible and job-sharing working patterns, where they meet the demands of the role and business needs.

Appointments are made strictly in merit order.

In the event that two or more candidates receive identical interview scores, 'strong experience of stakeholder engagement across complex organisations' will be applied as the primary lead criterion to determine the final merit order.

The national salary range is £42,914 - £46,182, London salary range is £49,325 - £53,081.

Your salary will be dependent on your base location, You'll receive a range of excellent benefits when you join our department, including:

  • A generous employer pension contribution of 28.97% through the Civil Service Pension Scheme.
  • 25 days of annual leave, (increasing to 30 days once you have reached 5 years of service), plus 8 bank holidays and a privilege day for the King's birthday.
  • Flexible working arrangements including hybrid working, working part time or compressed hours. Designed to support a positive work-life balance.
  • Employees are allocated 10% of their working time for personal and professional development.
  • A £1k per person learning budget is in place to support all our people, with access to best-in-class conferences and seminars, accreditation with professional bodies, fully funded vocational programmes and e-learning platforms.
  • Compassionate maternity, adoption, and shared parental leave policies, with up to 26 weeks leave at full pay, 13 weeks with partial pay, and 13 weeks further leave.

And maternity support/paternity leave at full pay for 2 weeks, too!

  • Base salary for this role is from London: £49,325 - £53,081; National: £42,914 - £46,182
  • New entrants to the Civil Service joining the Mo J are expected to start at the minimum of the pay band.
  • Existing Civil Servants moving on a level transfer will retain their current base salary or move to the minimum of the pay band for the role, whichever is higher.
  • Existing Civil Servants who are promoted will either move to the bottom of the new grade's pay band or receive a 10% uplift, whichever provides the greater increase.

Annual Leave

Annual leave is 25 days on appointment and will increase to 30 days after five years' service.

There is also a scheme to allow qualifying staff to buy or sell up to three days leave each year.

Additional paid time off for public holidays and 1 privilege day.

Leave for part-time and job share posts will be calculated on a pro-rata basis.

The Civil Service offers a choice of pension schemes, giving you the flexibility to choose the pension that suits you best.
