The Army Theater Operations Department within MITRE’s National Security Engineering Center is seeking an Intelligence Systems Engineer with experience in Army/DoD intelligence processes, intelligence information systems, and multi-national intelligence sharing implementation to join our team in support of US Army Europe-Africa (USAREUR-AF) G2. The ideal candidate will have a willingness to engage and learn new technologies to respond to rapidly changing sponsor needs. Previous experience with Army or other DoD intelligence, processes, systems, and architecture experience are a plus.
The prospective candidate will be expected to work closely with sponsors to develop and refine technical products, and within MITRE to identify innovative products or approaches that can be brought to bear. The candidate will lead a MITRE task team consisting of team members on site and potentially in CONUS. The candidate will interact with MITRE staff to increase our capabilities via sponsor work and internal research and development. The successful candidate will possess strong communication skills, the ability to visualize complex architectures and workflows, and the ability to link technical concepts to operational missions.
Responsibilities:
- Engagement with sponsors and government stakeholders to identify capability gaps.
- Work independently to develop written and architectural products, and able to collaborate with a distributed team to recommend approaches and leverage additional skillsets.
- Leveraging relationships across Innovation Centers and Program Divisions across MITRE to bring forward improved capabilities to the sponsor.
This position requires a commitment and relocation for 3 years to Wiesbaden, Germany in support of our work with USAREUR-AF. This position is physically located in Wiesbaden, Germany, and collocated with the sponsor at the U.S. Army Europe-Africa Mission Command Center on Clay Kaserne. The position offer is contingent on the candidate’s qualifying for Technical Expert Status Accreditation (TESA) status.
Basic Qualifications:
- Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 5 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
- Interested candidates are expected to be familiar with Army or DoD intelligence processes and systems pertinent to multi-INT – such as SIGINT, GEOINT, ELINT, etc.
- Effective at collaborating with junior and senior team members as part of a distributed team.
- Possess active DoD TS/SCI clearance.
- This position has an on-site requirement of 5 days a week on-site.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous successful Task Lead or equivalent experience.
- Effective at developing close working relationships with senior leaders and sponsors as a trusted adviser for the leadership on major initiatives, technical challenges, and priorities.
- Experience or familiarity with Army or Joint intelligence systems such as TITAN, ADV, DCGS, and others.
- Possess an understanding of Army or Joint intelligence processes, concepts, and technologies, as well as familiarity with supporting networking, processing, exploitation, and dissemination technologies and architectures.
- Ability and desire to document results through technical and non-technical briefings, memos, and formal reports.
- Ability to communicate complex concepts to different audiences; from high-level descriptions to detailed explanations.
- Demonstrated initiative and collaboration bringing the corporation to bear to address strategic challenges.
- Advanced degree in Systems Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems Management, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields; or equivalent experience.
