Your Mission As part of our Intellectual Property team within Flexible Packaging, you will help protect and strengthen Mondi's innovation portfolio while supporting our long-term business strategy. You will play a key role in securing our freedom to operate, safeguarding sustainable packaging innovations, and supporting our R&D teams with valuable market and technology insights.
Your responsibilities will include:
Identifying patent opportunities and supporting the drafting of patent applications and filing strategies
Conducting prior art and patentability searches
Reviewing search results provided by external partners and monitoring third-party intellectual property rights
Tracking competitor activities and preparing competitor and technology analyses
Supporting patent oppositions and other patent-related legal proceedings through technical documentation and research
Managing patent-related administration, including legal status checks, deadline monitoring, and annual fee management
Collaborating closely with R&D and business stakeholders to support innovation projects and IP strategy development
Your Profile
Master's degree in Organic Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Material Science, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline
PhD is considered an advantage
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Intellectual Property, patents, innovation management, or a related field
Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail
Structured, proactive, and well-organized approach to work
Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and actionable insights
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Fluent German and English language skills, both written and spoken
Willingness to travel occasionally within Austria and Europe
