Overview
In this role, you will lead end-to-end data migration engagements, shaping strategies and delivery across source estates, schema transformations, and production cutovers. You will design CDC pipelines and leverage Kafka, Debezium, and cloud-native tooling to minimize downtime. You’ll bring deep experience with NoSQL and relational systems to de-risk migrations for enterprise customers. You’ll help scale and mature our migration practice by building reusable assets and tooling, while collaborating with customers and cross-functional teams to drive outcomes.

Verantwortungsbereiche
- Plan and deliver end-to-end data migration engagements, including estate assessment, strategy, wave planning, schema/data-model transformation, pipeline construction, validation, and production cutover with minimal downtime
- Design and operate change data capture pipelines using Kafka, Debezium, and cloud-native replication services to enable zero/near-zero downtime migrations
- Provide platform depth on Cassandra, Cosmos DB, and DocumentDB to de-risk customer migrations and architecture decisions
- Collaborate with enterprise customers and internal teams from whiteboard to war room, owning the consulting lifecycle from planning to post-engagement follow-up
- Support pre-sales by scoping opportunities, sizing migrations, and building credible statements of work and estimates
- Create reusable assets (playbooks, reference architectures, tooling improvements) and contribute to the wider team enablement
- Partner with Product and Engineering to reflect field reality in product roadmaps and tooling enhancements
- Build AI tooling for migrations (estate assessment, schema conversion, translation, validation) and fold successes into standard delivery methodologies
- Turn field experience into scalable assets and contribute to the migration practice’s growth and reputation
Zentrale Anforderungen
- 5+ years in software engineering, data engineering, or consulting delivery focused on data platforms at production scale
- Hands-on with at least one distributed NoSQL platform (e.g., Cassandra, Cosmos DB, DocumentDB)
- Experience with CDC/streaming pipelines (Kafka/Confluent Platform, Debezium, connectors) and schema evolution
- Solid grounding in relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
- Programming proficiency in Java, Python, Node.js, C#, Go or similar for pipeline glue and tooling
- Experience with AI in engineering workflows
- Excellent customer interaction and presentation skills
- Entrepreneurial bias and comfort operating in ambiguous environments
- Willingness to travel up to ~30% in EMEA
- MongoDB expertise not required; willingness to learn MongoDB as part of the role
