Our Team

Welcome to the Audi F1 Project.

Audi will be competing in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship from 2026. The new team has two locations. Audi’s Motorsport Competence Center in Neuburg (Germany) is considered one of the most modern of its kind in Europe. The Sauber Group’s Formula 1 factory in Hinwil (Switzerland) is known for its innovative technologies and passion for racing. The Power Unit comes from Neuburg, while Hinwil is responsible for the development of the chassis and race operations. The planned takeover by AUDI AG turns two teams into a factory team – and you can be part of it.

What you need? The mindset of an athlete. If you are someone for whom giving up isn’t an option and limits are just something to be overcome, you can bring Vorsprung durch Technik to Formula 1 with us. Become part of this unique project and make motorsport history.

The position for the Audi F1 Project is at Audi Formula Racing GmbH in Neuburg (Germany).

As a developer for the performance of the entire Formula 1 power unit/transmission/hydraulics on highly complex test benches, as well as with the subsequent race support from Mission Control, you will make a significant contribution to the success of the project and set the development directions for the various sub-divisions/departments. You will be involved in the development of one of the most powerful and efficient hybrid drivetrains in the highly competitive motorsport environment of Formula 1.

Your Mission

  • Coordinating activities between the ICE, ERS, SECU, software, operating strategy, transmission and hydraulics departments with a focus on performance, testing and development. You will define the roadmap of the operating strategy to achieve “Ready To Race”.
  • Monitoring and analysing powertrain performance data during testing on the test benches, at DIL and during testing and races (Mission Control Room).
  • Developing and implementing strategies for energy management and fuel savings together with colleagues from the operating strategy and software development departments, in compliance with and fully utilising the regulations.
  • Carrying out tests and simulations to improve the efficiency and reliability of the powertrain (powertrain test bench).
  • Documenting and analysing faults and rectifying them.

Your Profile

  • Successfully completed technical or scientific studies or doctorate (mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, aerospace).
  • Sound knowledge of data analysis and evaluation.
  • Experience with McLaren Applied Atlas and vTAG.
  • Knowledge of the technical and sporting Formula 1 regulations is advantageous.
  • Understanding of the driving dynamics of racing cars and the relevant influencing parameters of the drivetrain, including brake-by-wire and a controllable differential.
  • Strong analytical, systemic and independent way of working, as well as the ability to work in a team and coordinate teams.
  • Full professional proficiency in German or English and a willingness to learn a basic level in the corresponding other language are prerequisites.
