Do you have a deep understanding of German labour laws, works council collaboration, and organisational change? We’re looking for a Senior People Business Partner to lead our People function in Berlin, working closely with our leadership team to align people strategies with business goals and enhance the employee experience.
You will sit within the global People team here at MPB, and will work alongside our other People Business Partners and People Ops Coordinators in each of our markets (UK & US) whilst reporting directly into our VP People.
What you will be doing
- Strategic Business Partnering: Work directly with the Berlin leadership team to develop & execute people strategies that align with business objectives
- Works Council & Employee Relations: Build strong relationships with the MPB works council, ensuring compliance with German labour law regulations whilst fostering a collaborative and empowering workplace culture
- Culture & Change Leadership: Drive organisational change and transformation initiatives, shaping a positive and inclusive culture
- People Ops & HR Strategy: Oversee HR processes, implement best practices, and enhance operational efficiency
- Global Impact: Contribute to key global strategic people projects, with a particular focus on engagement, DEI, and employee experience
- Coaching & Leadership: Lead and mentor our People Operations Coordinator in Berlin, supporting their career growth and development
What we are looking for
- HR Expertise: A strong track record of holding (senior) People Business Partnering roles, preferably in an international setting
- Labour Law & Works Council Experience: Strong knowledge of German employment law and experience in negotiating agreements and establishing efficient ways of working
- Strategic, Hands-on Approach: Ability to balance big-picture HR strategy with operational excellence
- Fluent in German & English: Essential for engaging with our diverse workforce and leadership teams
- Data-driven & Analytical: Experienced in using people metrics to inform decisions and drive improvements
- Change & Transformation Leadership: Proven experience in leading HR change programs and driving business impact
- Professional HR certification or equivalent experience is essential
