As Principal Engineer, you will lead the development of MVDC protection technologies for next-generation power systems.

- Design, simulate and test MV circuit breakers (vacuum, solid-state, hybrid)
- Develop ultra-fast MVDC protection solutions
- Design and optimise Thomson coil actuators for performance and reliability
- Establish MV/MVDC test circuits, prototypes and HV laboratory testing
- Lead research collaborations with European universities and research institutions
- Contribute to patents, publications and development of new protection technologies
- Ensure compliance with IEC and IEEE standards

- 5+ years’ hands-on experience in MV/HVDC protection, circuit breaker design, fault analysis and interruption technologies
- Strong knowledge of hybrid circuit breakers, ultra-fast protection, MVDC breakers and innovative interrupter technologies
- Experience with DER integration (PV and BESS) and advanced fault detection desirable
- Strong electromagnetic and thermal modelling for high-power applications
- Proven MV breaker development, technical innovation and leadership
- Experience with real-time simulation or FPGA-based control systems
- Experience with vacuum or gaseous circuit breakers advantageous
- Strong research background with publications or collaboration in MV protection technologies
