What we are looking for

The Connected Work team at Safety io is looking for a Senior UX Designer interested in creating innovative multi-platform experiences that build on an established ecosystem of industrial hardware and software offerings. Safety io, a MSA Safety subsidiary, builds industry-leading software that helps users across a range of industrial and fire service applications optimize their work and protect the health and safety of their workforce. Our designers are flexible and adaptable individuals who function as core members of their product teams – providing research-based insights to iterate and deliver solutions for digital and physical experiences.

Responsibilities

• Owning the end-to-end UX and UI design process for cloud-based industrial web/mobile applications.
• Collaborating with product managers, engineers, designers and users to ideate, refine, and deliver high-quality solutions that meet user needs and business goals.
• Advocating for user-centered design and accessibility best practices.
• Planning and facilitating quantitative and qualitative research activities to discover user needs and inform product solutions.
• Actively participating in the decision making and agile process, working with internal and external teams.
• Contributing to the advancement of design maturity at Safety io by taking part in efforts to improve UX best practices and UI component libraries.
• Encouraging creativity and exploration and offering your mentorship and knowledge to other designers in the organization.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of professional experience as a UX/UI designer.
• An updated portfolio that showcases web and mobile app work, with a strong UX and UI focus.
• Bachelor\’s or Master\’s degree in UX design, industrial design, graphic design, architecture, human-computer interaction, or a related field.
• High proficiency with industry-standard tools (e.g., Figma, Jira, Miro, etc.).
• Fluency in English (our office language is English)
• Practical experience with quantitative and qualitative research methods and design-thinking heuristics.
• An eye for detail. Bring your passion for seamless user interaction and beautiful UI.
• Previous experience working independently with multiple development teams.
• Facilitation and cross-functional collaboration and communication skills that help you thrive in multi-disciplinary teams.
• Previous experience working with design systems and accessibility guidelines.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
