JOB PURPOSE
Operations Director manages entertainment operations on MSC & Explora Cruise ships & the shoreside operations team, ensuring high standards, guest satisfaction, & team support. The role oversees operations, prepares ships for new markets, handles feedback on content, suppliers, & staff. Leads recruitment, training, & management of large scale budgets.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Strategic Planning: Align departmental strategy with company goals.
- Process Optimisation: Drive operational efficiencies & improvements.
- Leadership: Lead operational teams, shoreside, travelling & onboard.
- Performance Monitoring: Track KPIs for continuous improvement.
- Risk Management: Identify & mitigate potential risks.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with Entertainment Development, Creative, & other external departments.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to industry standards & policies.
- Staff Development: Oversee recruitment, training, & development of operational staff.
- SOP Management: Create & maintain standard operating procedures.
- Budget & Financial Management: Manage budgets & control costs.
- Analytical Skills: Analyse data to drive operational improvements.
- Project Management: Oversee new entertainment-focused projects in line with other stakeholders.
- Performance Reviews: Conduct key staff performance reviews and procedures.
- Crisis Management: Manage emergencies effectively.
- Expansion Support: Support integration of new markets & products.
- Special Projects: Manage additional assigned projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 10 years + senior management or director level, preferably with onboard and/or shoreside roles in cruise industry.
- Fluent English. Any other European Language is a plus.
- Strong financial acumen & attention to detail.
- Excellent project management, analytical, & communication skills.
VISA REQUIREMENTS
EU Passport or right to work in Switzerland.
