ph3Demurrage Detention Manager /h3 pWe are searching for an experienced Demurrage Detention Manager at our MSC Geneva facility. /p h3Primary Duties and Responsibilities /h3 pThe Manager – Demurrage Detention plays a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing MSC’s global DD revenues, reporting directly to the Chief Logistics Officer (CLO) and leading a team of 4 FTEs. /p pThey will provide strategic insights and actionable recommendations to enhance profitability and equipment operational efficiency. /p h3Key Responsibilities /h3 h3Reporting Analysis /h3 ul liReport to top management on DD results, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities. /li liAnalyse DD invoicing trends and propose strategies to improve profitability, running benchmarking exercises and proposing improvements in the tariff structure. /li liSimulate the results of changes to DD tariff structures and present findings to the MSC HQ Liner Department and other key stakeholders. /li /ul h3Stakeholder Engagement /h3 ul liConduct regular meetings with the MSC HQ Liner Department to review trade results, analyse trends, and identify opportunities to enhance revenue collection. /li liMaintain ongoing communication with Worldwide Logistics teams to address discrepancies and propose process improvements. /li liCollaborate with other internal stakeholders to ensure procedures are optimized and effectively implemented. /li /ul h3System Process Improvement /h3 ul liMaintain direct and continuous contact with IT teams to drive system enhancements, prioritize developments, contribute to the design of new functionalities, and ensure data quality. /li /ul h3Team Collaboration /h3 ul liWork closely with HQ and SSC Greece teams to align strategies and share best practices. /li /ul h3Major Challenges of the Position /h3 ul liKnowledge Transfer Onboarding: The role requires deep in-house expertise and familiarity with complex internal systems and procedures, making onboarding and knowledge transfer a critical challenge. /li liNavigating Conflicts of Interest: Balancing negotiations with external agencies and internal colleagues may present potential conflicts of interest, requiring diplomacy, transparency, and sound judgment. /li liMaintaining Strategic Oversight: Given the volume and granularity of data, it can be challenging to maintain a strategic, high-level perspective. The role demands the ability to synthesize detailed information without losing sight of broader business objectives. /li /ul h3Required Qualifications /h3 h3Knowledge, Experience, and Skills /h3 ul liDegree in Finance, Business Management, or a Maritime-related field. /li liStrong understanding of shipping operations and container logistics. /li liProficiency in maritime freight tariff calculation and data analysis. /li liFamiliarity with OneVision Headquarters modules (MSC GVA systems) is a plus. /li /ul h3Experience /h3 ul liProven experience in contract analysis and financial reporting. /li liExposure to Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems. /li /ul h3Skills Competencies /h3 ul liAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI. /li liStrong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities. /li liExcellent communication and negotiation skills. /li liHigh attention to detail and accuracy. /li liCollaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally. /li /ul pOur company provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or genetics. /p /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
