Overview
As Marine Operation Officer, you ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operation of MSC’s global fleet. You act as the central link between vessels, shore teams, and external stakeholders to support marine activities, safety, and regulatory standards. You will manage weather-driven decisions, passage planning, and coordination for port operations and tugs, contributing to operational excellence. Verantwortungsbereiche
- Monitor weather conditions for vessels and update passage plans accordingly
- Create and insert passage plans in the dedicated system; ensure Master approves and updates them as weather changes
- Advise on adjusting course and speed to minimize rolling/pitching in adverse weather
- Coordinate weather checks before port arrival; arrange tugs and mooring with the Master
- Ensure safe anchoring only in designated areas and avoid adverse conditions
- Coordinate Shore Tension and Lock Passage installation with PIC
- Follow up with PIC on damages, incidents, or claims

- Strong understanding of marine operations
- Sea time onboard cargo vessels is a plus
- Ability to handle pressure
- Critical thinking to analyze and decide for safety and efficiency
