To strengthen our team, we are looking for support at the earliest possible date for our German branch based in Cologne or Hamburg:

Junior Underwriter Marine (m/f/d)

Main tasks

As part of our team, you will gain comprehensive insight into the world of marine insurance and gradually build your technical expertise.

• Support underwriters in risk assessment and quotation preparation
• Review and process insurance documents and contracts
• Maintain and update data in our systems
• Assist with quotations, policy renewals, and endorsements
• Collaborate with the Underwriting, Claims, and Operations teams
• Develop knowledge in assessing risks within the international transportation and logistics environment

As you progress, you will develop towards:

• Analysis and assessment of complex risks
• Support in underwriting decisions
• Development into an Underwriter

Your profile - Professional experience/ personality/ languages/software

• Successfully completed commercial/vocational training or a university degree, ideally with a focus on insurance, logistics, shipping, international trade, or business administration.
• Initial practical experience gained through training, internships, or professional employment in insurance, transportation, logistics, or financial services is considered an advantage.
• Native-level proficiency in German, both written and spoken, is a mandatory requirement for this position.
• Due to the international nature of the business, very good English language skills, both written and spoken, are also required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Strong analytical thinking skills and an interest in economic relationships and risk assessment.
• Structured, detail-oriented, and self-reliant working style, combined with a high level of motivation to learn, initiative, and strong teamwork skills.
