We are looking for an experienced network engineer and security specialist who is not only skilled in day-to-day administration but also in planning for the future.
Your tasks
- You will assist with the planning, design and implementation of modern network architectures and security strategies for our clients – always with an eye on current best practices and modern security standards.
- The administration, configuration and further development of our firewall and security infrastructure (e.g. WatchGuard) will form part of your day-to-day responsibilities.
- You will set up and manage VPN and remote access solutions (SSL-VPN, site-to-site VPN, IPsec) to ensure our staff can work securely from any location.
- You will administer and maintain our switching infrastructure (Aruba, Cisco and HPE) and ensure a stable and high-performance network environment.
- You will implement network segmentation strategies to enforce security policies and minimise risks.
- You will plan, configure and optimise routing within our network infrastructure.
- In the event of faults, you will analyse root causes, resolve network issues in existing client infrastructures and provide 2nd- and 3rd-level support.
- You will assist with IT security audits, penetration tests and vulnerability analyses to continuously improve and harden our systems.
- You will plan and oversee complex network and security projects and document network topologies, configurations, changes and operating manuals.
Your profile
- A degree in (Business) Computer Science, a qualification as an IT Specialist (m/f/d) or an equivalent qualification.
- Several years’ professional experience in the field of network technology and IT security.
- Experience in working with firewall technologies and VPN solutions.
- A structured, solution-oriented and independent approach to work.
- Analytical thinking and a passion for complex technical challenges.
- Motivation to learn about new technologies and share knowledge within the team.
- Good command of German and English.
