Our MTC training center, based in Hamburg, provides maritime training to pilots, captains, nautical officers, engineers, consultants, authorities and all other personnel engaged in marine business.
State-of-the-art simulators for shiphandling, POD – training, GMDSS, engine operation, liquid cargo operations and safety are the basis for sophisticated and efficient training.
The courses are compliant with the requirements of STCW and IMO.
Your role As a Nautical Instructor, you will be responsible for the training and education of nautical officers and captains to command a wide range of vessels in all navigation areas.
Our courses are compliant with STCW 2010 regulations, IMO model courses and the specific requirements of our customers.
Your main responsibilities will include: Delivering simulator-based training in ships command, vessel manoeuvring and verification of harbour studies Ensuring the efficient operation and continuous development of our simulators and training courses Preparing and maintaining appropriate course documentation in English Contributing to the further enhancement of training concepts and methodologies.
You will work with state-of-the-art simulators, including six full-mission bridges and more than 200 ships available, in a professional and international training environment.
Your profile: Approximately four years’ experience as a Senior Officer, Captain or Nautical Instructor Valid Certificate of Competency or a Bachelor’s degree in this area (or equivalent experience in a similar role) Strong communication skills and confidence in working with participants and customers from different cultures and nations Good command of the English language and solid knowledge of IT-related topics Strong organisational and time management skills Ability to develop new training concepts and flexibility to fulfil customer requirements A team player with a proactive and motivated attitude Experience in cruise vessel manoeuvring and/or BRM (Bridge Resource Management) will be considered an advantage.
