About the role
As a Validation Team Manager, you will lead and develop a team of experts responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of world-leading battery management systems through robust validation processes. You will drive improvements in validation methodologies and play a critical role in guaranteeing the performance and compliance of electronic and electro-mechanical systems.
As part of the hardware development department, you will oversee all aspects of validation activities, ensuring alignment with product development goals and industry standards. The team you will lead is responsible for planning and executing validation strategies, conducting comprehensive testing, and analyzing results to verify that components and systems meet defined specifications. Your role will also include fostering innovation in validation processes and building test setups to support accurate performance evaluations.

- Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor a team of approximately 7 validation engineers, providing technical guidance, support, and motivation to ensure successful project execution.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, quality, and innovation in validation processes, focusing on achieving excellence in quality and reliability testing.
- Promote professional growth through career development support and performance evaluations, ensuring team members thrive and excel.
- Project Management:
- Oversee the validation lifecycle, from test planning to execution and reporting, ensuring alignment with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Ensure efficient cross-functional collaboration with design, electronics, software, and mechanical engineering teams to develop comprehensive validation strategies.
- Optimize validation processes to improve efficiency, coverage, and reliability while meeting industry standards and customer expectations.
- Technical Expertise:
- Develop and implement innovative testing methods to evaluate thermal, electrical, and mechanical performance, pushing the boundaries of validation engineering.
- Utilize advanced simulation and modeling tools to predict and optimize product performance, ensuring reliability and safety under extreme operating conditions.
- Trigger the development of testing equipment and tools to maximize the validation scope and effectiveness.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Facilitate seamless communication between validation, development, and integration teams to address technical challenges and ensure system-wide reliability.
- Communicate validation progress, challenges, and risk assessments effectively to stakeholders, including management, engineering teams, and external partners.
- Build and maintain relationships with external laboratories and testing facilities to enhance validation capabilities.
What you bring with you
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in validation engineering, with a focus on automotive electronics, high-voltage systems, battery management, or embedded devices.
- Proven experience leading engineering or validation teams and managing complex projects successfully.
- Deep understanding of validation methodologies, reliability testing, and industry standards such as ISO 26262, MBN LV 123/ 124-1, MBN 10567, VW80000, TL 81000, CISPR 25 and similar.
- Experience with designing and conducting tests for electronic components, environmental stress testing, and failure mode analysis.
- A proactive and innovative mindset with a passion for quality, reliability, and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts effectively. Fluency in English is required; German proficiency is a plus.
