Loss Control Engineering supports underwriting excellence and provides technical support in the assessment of risks for all MR business units worldwide. This service includes the analysis of risks based on external reports, own risk inspections and consultancy for risk improvement.
Being part of LCE, the section \“LCE NE/IRP\“ comprises two parts that provide comprehensive services for various clients within the Munich Re Group. This is achieved primarily by managing short to medium-term projects that require efficient coordination and specialised know how of internal and external stakeholders.
Given the fundamental change of the energy landscape worldwide, the New Energy (NE) part supports underwriting units groupwide with initiatives, e.g. technology and market analyses, forecasts on the
development of leading technologies in different regions, the development of new insurance covers and concrete improvements in technical underwriting. These initiatives are coordinated by the New Energy
Committee (NEC), which drives collaboration between different business units within the Munich Re Group, including GSI and ERGO.
The Infrastructure Risk Profiler (IRP) part provides a consultancy service to assess the various risks of investments in infrastructure and forestry. To achieve a comprehensive, holistic and comparable result for different types of investments, this is based on a close cooperation with other Munich Re experts and external partners.
Your Job:
- Project Manager for various energy related topics, responsible for the organization of content work, quality control, and timely delivery of the results including follow up discussions with stakeholders.
- Perform Technical Due Diligence / technical feasibility studies for energy related topics.
- Support the UW units and CU with the development of pricing methods, topic papers and risk management assessments for various occupancies.
- Participate in data projects including data cleaning, structuring and analysis.
- Develop presentations and present to the Munich Re community.
- Keeping up to date with innovations, trends and developments in the changing energy landscape.
- Build and maintain information sources within the industry, communities and relevant networks, establish respective databases, standards and tools.
- Act as a point of contact and centre of excellence for the Munich Re group for energy topics.
- Facilitate a collaborative environment amongst the Munich Re Group energy underwriting communities.
Your Profile:
- University degree, preferably in a field of engineering or science.
- Experience in renewable energy related topics and preferably in other industries and technologies.
- Willingness to work on diverse technical topics also beyond personal experience.
- Knowledge in insurance (direct or facultative underwriting, claims).
- Project management skills and experience in matrix project organization; agile methods and moderation skills.
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills and the ability to think and plan strategically.
- High degree of independence, self-motivation and service orientation.
- Strong written and verbal skills, ability to present complex findings in a concise, clear form.
- Business-fluent in English, good command of German.
- Ability to fit in and work in a team.
