Overview
As a Credit Analyst at Munich Re, you analyze banks, non-bank financials, and sovereigns (with a focus on emerging markets) to assess creditworthiness and financing structures in trade finance. You prepare internal credit applications and support risk decisions with deal teams and CRRMs. You monitor global portfolios, identify early risks, and contribute to risk tools and processes. This role offers exposure to cross-functional collaboration and client interactions within a leading reinsurance context.

Verantwortungsbereiche
- Analyze creditworthiness of banks and NBFIs and evaluate complex trade finance structures
- Determine maximum risk appetite at country and sector levels
- Assess country risk in sovereign financing transactions
- Prepare internal credit applications with reasoned recommendations
- Monitor and steer the global financial institutions portfolio, identifying significant risks
- Develop and enhance credit risk management tools and systems
- Collaborate with deal teams and engage in direct client contacts
- Participate in client meetings to discuss transactions and market developments
- Take initiative in strategic growth initiatives and new business opportunities
- Support improvements to risk management tools and processes
Zentrale Anforderungen
- 7+ years of professional experience in credit analysis of banks and NBFIs (preferably in emerging markets)
- Relevant product knowledge in trade finance and financing transactions of banks and NBFIs
- Good knowledge of sovereign risk analysis
- In-depth knowledge of credit risk management in banks including development finance/miltilateral institutions
- Excellent analytical skills with strong risk awareness and ability to justify decisions
- Proficient use of MS-Office; interest in AI-supported analysis
- Strong team player with collaborative mindset
- Very good written and verbal English; additional relevant languages are a plus
