- You develop and design assemblies and subsystems for our optical communication terminals, working closely with systems, optics, electronics, manufacturing, and test engineers.
- You take ownership of mechanical solutions from concept through qualification and production, balancing performance, cost, manufacturability, and reliability.
- You create, analyze, andoptimizedesigns using engineering calculations and simulation tools, including structural, thermal, and dynamic analyses.
- You derive mechanical architectures, subsystem requirements, interfaces, and design concepts from system-level requirements.
- You perform simulations and toleranceanalyses, andassess the impact of mechanical design decisions on optical, electrical, and system performance.
- You support the definition and execution of verification and qualification activities, interpreting testresultsand feeding lessons learned back into the design.
- You create and maintain CAD models and technical documentation throughout the product lifecycle.
- You communicate technical trade-offs, analysis results, and design decisions effectively within project teams and design reviews.
What you bring with you
- University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, ora relateddiscipline.
- Profounddemonstratedexperience indesigning complex mechanical or optomechanical systems ina high-technology environment,e.g.aerospace, photonics, semiconductor equipment, medical devicesdefense or similar.
- Strong systems-thinking mindset with the ability to understand and balance multidisciplinary requirements.
- Solid understanding of mechanics, materials, thermal behavior, and tolerance analysis.
- Experience performing engineering analyses and simulations. Experience in structural, thermal, and vibration assessments is a strong plus.
- Ability to translate system requirements into practical androbustengineering solutionsthat balance quality with development speed and cost.
- Hands-on mentality and willingness to build, test, troubleshoot, and improve your own designs.
- Strong knowledge of 3D CAD tools and PLM systems, ideally Siemens NX and Teamcenter.
- Understanding ofmanufacturing processes, assembly methods, and design-for-manufacturing principles.
- Comfortable working across disciplines and engaging constructively with systems, optics, electronics, software, and production teams.
- Results-oriented, proactive, and capable of taking responsibility for technical decisions.
- Strong communicationskills in English, both written and spoken.
- Enthusiasm for solving challenging engineering problems in an innovative and fast-paced environment.
