Junior Android Engineer - Everyday Banking Berlin, Barcelona, Vienna

About the opportunity

You will join the Cards & Wallets Segment in the Everyday Banking Domain, where we are all responsible for providing our users and the company with a secure, compliant, scalable and disruption-free Cards experience.

The Cards & Wallets Group is located in our Berlin and Barcelona offices, which is the global hub for all of our domestic and international payments business. Timing wise you are joining at a pivotal moment during which we are redefining our cards strategy to achieve scale and grow revenue inline with our growing global footprint.

Our cross-functional teams are passionate about collaboration and sharing knowledge, as well as working with a high degree of autonomy.

As a Junior Android Engineer at N26, you will be encouraged to embrace the latest technologies and frameworks to work on customer-centric, complex, and interesting problems on a daily basis.

In this role, you will:

• Work in cross-functional teams, understand how the entire puzzle fits together instead of just being a solitary piece

• Take ownership and have an impact on the product

• Ask \“Why?\“ and be prepared to be asked, \“What do you think about it?\“

• Engage in knowledge-sharing within your team as well as beyond

• Understand and work with Agile development methodologies

What you need to be successful:

• Thorough experience with the Android Platform and Material Design principles

• Experience with Kotlin

• Experience with Reactive programming – RxJava/RxAndroid/RxKotlin/Coroutines

• Able to build software with a focus on testability – Test/Behaviour Driven Development, Dependency Injection

• Experience with Jetpack Compose (nice to have)

Skills:

• Be highly motivated and a fast learner

• Strong bias for action, and getting things done

• Language Skills: full professional proficiency in English
